New French Onion Soup Scoops Prestigious Q Award

One of the Real Soup Company’s newest flavours has been crowned category winner at the prestigious Wholesale Quality Food Awards (Q Awards), held last week in London.

The company’s French Onion Soup – part of its recently launched ‘Around the World’ range – was awarded Best Catering Soup at the ceremony which recognises products created for independent retailers and foodservice outlets.

The rich, dark and sweet blend of sliced onions and vegetable stock was chosen by an expert judging panel made up of chefs, chef-lecturers, home economists, food writers, consultants, restaurateurs, food technologists and representatives from regional food groups.

As with the entire Real Soup Company range, French Onion has been created and honed by a dedicated team of development chefs, made in small batches and supplied fresh to the catering world. It’s an approach which David Colwell, Foodservice Manager, Real Soup Company says sets the company apart, helping it win plaudits such as the Q Award.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been recognised by such an esteemed panel and an award with serious heritage. It’s testament to the hard work put in by our incredible team of chefs, creating a simple yet authentic product that lets the quality ingredients and depth of flavour do the talking – a more than worthy winner.”
